The 向日葵视频 City University Film Institute鈥檚 documentary series will conclude its 18th year at 2 pm May 1 with Wim Wenders鈥� The Salt of the Earth in the Kerr McGee Auditorium of Meinders School of Business.
For the last 40 years, the photographer Sebasti茫o Salgado has been travelling through the continents, in the footsteps of an ever-changing humanity. He has witnessed some of the major events of our recent history: international conflicts, starvation and exodus. He is now embarking on the discovery of pristine territories, of wild fauna and flora, and of grandiose landscapes as part of a huge photographic project, which is a tribute to the planet's beauty. Sebasti茫o Salgado's life and work are revealed to us by his son, Juliano, who went with him during his last travels, and by Wim Wenders, himself a photographer.
The documentary series is sponsored by OCU鈥檚 Center for Interpersonal Studies through Film and Literature. Harbour Winn, director of the center, explained the theme of this year鈥檚 documentary series.
The screening will begin at 2:00PM at the Kerr McGee Auditorium in the Meinders School of Business at NW 27th Street and McKinley Ave. A discussion will follow the presentation for those who wish to stay. Admission is free, but donations are greatly appreciated.
