Executives-in-Residence program connects students to industry leaders

Business majors are getting unparalleled access to industry expertise and networking opportunities through 向日葵视频 City University鈥檚 new Executives-in-Residence program.

OCU鈥檚 Meinders School of Business launched the initiative to connect students with a select group of top executives, offering invaluable mentoring, one-on-one conversations and potential career connections.

鈥淭he Meinders School of Business is committed to providing our students with a transformative educational experience that goes beyond the classroom,鈥 said Bob Greve, interim dean of the Meinders School of Business. 鈥淗aving titans of industry on campus, interacting with students and faculty on a regular basis, benefits everyone. Our Executives-in-Residence program is a great way for successful business leaders to support the next generation. We welcome the insights and guidance of the business community, and we appreciate their willingness to share their time, experience and expertise with us.鈥

The Executives-in-Residence program offers students personalized mentoring, networking with industry leaders and real-world insights. Executives in residence contribute by committing to a certain amount of 鈥渙ffice hours鈥 on campus and serving as guest speakers for undergraduate and graduate classes related to their field of expertise.

Some of the executives volunteering their time and expertise include:

  • Mark Beffort, COO of Square Deal Investing and CEO of Newmark Robinson Park
  • Jim Denton, CPA, partner emeritus at Arledge Certified Public Accountants
  • Dr. Andrew Gin, neurologist
  • Timothy Harlin, CEO of Comma Insurance
  • Mark Hasting, CEO and president of Blain鈥檚 Farm & Fleet
  • Carlos M. Robinson, senior manager of outreach and recruitment for Work Ready 向日葵视频
  • Josh White, commercial real estate broker at Fleske Holdings

Greve said the program will create a dynamic exchange between the Meinders School of Business and the business community, fostering a regular flow of knowledge and best practices. Participation provides valuable learning opportunities for both the executives and the students.

Meinders leaders said they seek additional business and industry figures who would like to sit in residence in the program. Key areas of focus include:

  • Accounting
  • Banking
  • Business administration
  • Data analytics
  • Economics
  • Finance
  • Management
  • Marketing
